Rolland "Mike" Jackson

Rolland 'Mike' Jackson, 83, of Pekin, IL passed away at 10:30 PM Friday, May 22, 2015 at his home. Mike was born on July 23, 1931 in Dana, IL to Jess and Eva Marie (Sanders) Jackson. He married Jean Farlin on May 13, 1951 in Pekin. She passed away on May 12, 2009. Also preceding in death are his parents, one infant daughter and one brother, Jerry Jackson. Surviving are: two sons, Ricky (Deb) Jackson of Manito and Dave Jackson of Pekin; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Bob Jackson of San Diego, CA and Ted (Sally) Jackson of Havana, IL; one sister, Wanita Bumbalough of East Peoria, IL. Mike was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked for Caterpillar as a fire inspector retiring in 1983 after 32 years of service. Mike was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ and the Jayco Camping Club. He served as a Boy Scout leader and Civil Defense for many years.He enjoyed woodcarving and fishing. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin with Rev. Brian Bryne officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be Lakeview Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Air Force and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
