Roland Lee

Roland Lee, 98, of Pekin passed away at 11:08 pm Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the home of his son. Roland was born September 2, 1910 in Houston, MN to Aaron and Hazel (Wheaton) Lee. He married Selma T. Furuseth on August 9, 1933 in Houston, MN. She died February 4, 2008. Preceding in death are his parents, wife, one son, Donald Eugene Lee, three grandsons, Brennen Sherwin Lee, Donald Eugene Lee Jr., Roland Ross Lee, one great granddaughter, Caitlyn Michelle Lee and two brothers Howard and Grant Lee. Surviving are: one son, Rich (Cherie) Lee,with whom he made his home, of Pekin; one daughter, Marilyn (Ray) Degler ofGalena, IL; one daughter in law, Donna Lee of Pekin; six grandchildren, Andrew (Amy) Lee, Cherise (Norman) Lange, Lori (Steve) Jarvill, Phillip (Brenda) Lee, Tisha (Mike) Colpo and Tori (Kent) Hornor; seventeen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Lee of Houston, MN. Roland was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pekin. He was a former member of the Pekin Moose Lodge and Pekin Eagles Lodge. He was a member of Operating Engineer's Local #649. Roland was a master mechanic for Jansen Schaeffer Construction Company for 35 years retiring in 1975.
