Roger A. Lamer

Roger A. Lamer, 69, of Pekin, IL passed away at 2:07 PM Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria. Roger was born on April 2, 1951 in Peoria, IL to Robert and Dorothy (Jones) Lamer. He married Carla Hopkins in February 1973 in Pekin. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son-in-law, Jeff Wendel and his step-father, Walter Evans. Surviving are : his wife, Carla of Pekin; one son, Jason (Jaclyn) Lamer of Pekin; three daughters, Jessica (Rick) Dowds of Morton, Leslie (Ryan) Morris of Pekin, and Rachel Wendel of North Carolina; eight grandchildren; one sister, Rebecca (Vernon) Doubet of Pekin and one step brother, Mike (Peggy) Evans of Manito. Roger retired from Peoria Toyota as an auto technician. He was an avid waterfowl hunter. He loved fishing, all sports, NASCAR and AMA racing. He was a member of the Pekin Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed coaching basketball at the Pekin Union Mission. REO Speedwagon was his favorite rock band. Roger loved to cook, he was known for his wings. Per Rogers wishes, there will be no services. Cremation will be accorded. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting Rogers family with arrangements.
