Robert E. Sorrells

Robert E. Sorrells, 78, of Pekin passed away at 5:18 pm Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Pekin Hospital. He was born to Lemuel and Mable (Robinson) Sorrells on July 12, 1934 in Canton, IL.He married Phyllis Nystrom October 10, 1964. Bob is survived by two daughters, Campia Sorrells of Lake Placid, FL, Rebecca Sorrells of Pekin and one son, Timothy (Anita) Sorrells of Pekin; and four grandchildren. He was preceded by his wife, Phyllis, parents, and one brother. Bob was Deputy of the Circuit Clerks office in Peoria County for 14 years retiring in 2001. Bob served as a Boy Scout Leader, hunter safety instructor and master instructor for 18 years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at Henderson Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmie Taylor officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation has been accorded. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with medical expenses.
