Robert A. Reis Sr.

Robert "Bob" A. Reis Sr., 71, of Pekin, IL passed away at 12:00 PM Sunday, August 1, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Bob was born in New Ulm, MN on February 17, 1950 to Vandenburgh E. and Dorothy M. (Hare) Reis. He married Monica K. Taylor on July 5, 1980 in Peoria, IL. Preceding in death are his parents and one brother, Richard E. Reis. Surviving is; his wife Monica of Pekin; two sons, William Reis of Pekin and Robert Reis Jr. of Washington, IL; mother- in- Law Mona Taylor of Pekin; two grand pups, Rocky Road and Mudslide. Bob received his Bachelors degree from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1972 and his MBA from Baker University in 1992. He was the finance director for various local governments both in Illinois and Missouri until 2006. He was a vital part of the family business Ice Cream Shack of Sunnyland from 2007 to present. Bob had attended Grace United Methodist Church. He had been a member of the Pekin Rotary Club, Raytown Missouri Rotary Club, Certified Government Finance Managers Association and Government Finance Association. Bob and Monica were avid travelers having been to 48 states and two countries. He enjoyed dog training, golf, bowling and reading. A celebration of Bobs Life will begin at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Grace United Methodist Church in the Family Life Center with Rev. Eric Swanson officiating. Bobs family wishes for this to be a casually dressed event. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with Bobs arrangements.
