Robert E. Price

Robert E. 'Bob' Price, 84, of Pekin passed away 3:01 pm Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Pekin Hospital. Bob was born October 3, 1926 in Decatur, IL to Ernest W. and Rose E. (Coombs) Price. He married Sue Haley on August 18, 1951 in Decatur. She survives. Also, surviving are two sons, David (Susan) Price and Tom (Sue) Price, both of Pekin; four grandchildren, Matt Godbey of Pekin, Derek (Elizabeth) Price of East Peoria, and Rachel Price and Laura Price , both of Pekin; and two great grandchildren, Christina and Vanesssa Kajencki of East Peoria. Bob was a WWII Navy Veteran serving in the Pacific from October 1944 to June 1946. He was employed by Chicago & Illinois Midland Railroad and American Distilling, and retired from Midwest Grain Products of Illinois in 1988. Bob enjoyed spectator sports and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears Fan. Graveside services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. The Rev. Dwight Borden will officiate. There will be no visitation. The arrangements have been entrusted to Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to TAPS Animal Shelter or AmVets Post 235 in Pekin.
