Robert J. Patten, 68, of Pekin, IL passed away at 3:30 AM Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Carle Health – Methodist Hospital in Peoria.
Robert was born April 29, 1957 in Pekin to Russell L. and Florence L. (Brumns) Patten.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, David Patten.
Surviving are two sisters, Vicki McKinley and Peggy Patten of Pekin; two nephews and one niece.
Bob dedicated many years of his career to Cast Technologies in Peoria. He was a devoted member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pekin, where he found spiritual community and fellowship as part of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod congregation. Bob was also actively involved with the United Auto Workers (UAW) union and was a former member of the Mid Illinois Corvette Club, reflecting his deep passion for automobiles. A true car enthusiast at heart, he loved attending car shows, participating in cruise-ins, and soaking up the excitement of classic and performance vehicles on display. His enthusiasm extended to motorsports as well – he was an avid fan of NASCAR and IndyCar racing, rarely missing a chance to follow the thrilling action on the track. Bob’s life was enriched by his strong work ethic, faith, union pride, and lifelong love of cars and racing.
Funeral Services will at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pekin with Rev. Daniel Bishop officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin and from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM Wednesday at the Church. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to TAPS, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St. John’s Lutheran Church.
