Robert E. Heisel

Robert E. "Bob" Heisel, 96, of Pekin, IL passed away at 6:30 AM on Friday, May 20, 2022 at his home. Bob was born on October 21, 1925 in Pekin to Fred F. and Emily Marie (Brosmer) Heisel. He married Ann Heyl on September 4, 1955 in Pekin. Preceding in death are his parents, one sister, Florence Husby and two brothers, Fred Heisel Jr and Harley "Dick" Heisel. Surviving are: his wife, Ann of Pekin; two sons, Jed (Pam) Heisel and Dan (Kathy) Heisel both of Pekin; one daughter, Nancy (Mike) Brennemann of Pekin; six grandchildren, Brody Utley, Abby (Michael Lord) Brennemann, Jenna (JJ Tassart) Heisel, Alissa Heisel, Beth (Tim) Ghidina of Pekin and Katie (Aaron) Sommerich; three great grandchildren, Tucker Ghidina, Ethan Ghidina and Georgia Sommerich; three sister-in-laws, Alice Heisel of Gaylord, Mn, Marilyn Kuehne of Pekin and Barbara Hubbard of Celina, TN. Bob was a WWII veteran of United States Army Air Corp. He retired from Tazewell Farm Service on June 6, 1976 after 27 years. He also owned Heisels Sport Shop in Pekin for twenty years. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Tazewell County Farm Bureau and Lifetime member of Elks Lodge #1271. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending summers in Minnesota at Star Lake and was an avid Cub fan. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, May 27, 2022 at St. Paul United Church of Christ with Rev. Dr. Forrest Krummel Jr. officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 PM 7:00 PM Thursday, May 26th at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory and from 10:00 AM 11:00AM Friday at the Church. Burial with Military Honors will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ.
