Robert "Bob" W. Hanerhoff

Robert 'Bob' W. Hanerhoff, 87, of Peoria, IL passed away at 8:47 PM Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Heights Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Peoria Heights. Bob was born on August 28, 1929 in Hamilton, IL to Arthur and Virginia M. (Harkrader) Hanerhoff. He married Shirley Felker on February 12, 1954.He later married Nancy Cowen on October 19, 1991 in Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Gerald Hanerhoff and half-sister, Sharon Johnson. Surviving are: his wife, Nancy of Peoria; Shirley Hanerhoff of Marquette Heights; three sons, Robert W. (Cheryl) Hanerhoff Jr. of Gardner, KS, John A. (Kelly) Hanerhoff of Olathe, KS and James A. (Brenda) Hanerhoff of Moline, IL; one daughter, Janice (Rick) Lambie of Edwards, IL; three step-daughters, Susan (Mike) Jasien of Willow Springs, IL, Julie (Dan) Evans of Greensboro, NC and Ann (Dan) Robertson of Pekin; nine grandchildren, Bob III, Marie, Logan, Lucas, Brittney, Marcus, Griffen Hanerhoff, Kayla and Kylee Lambie; one great grandchild, Landon Ryan; ten step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren;half-brother, Arthur Hanerhoff Jr. of Peoria, IL and half-sister, Cindy Dorbecker of Houston, TX. Bob was veteran of the United States Air Force. He had been self- employed in sales and advertising. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Past Commander of the Marquette Heights American Legion, Peoria American Legion, Peoria Federation of Musicians Local 26, Temple Lodge #46 AF&AM, Scottish Rite, Mohammed Temple Shrine, El Hajj, Legion of Honor, Past President of Shrine Transportation Club, Past President Greater Peoria Shrine Club, Asst. General Chairman of Shrine Circus, Delta Nu Alpha Transportation Fraternity, Peoria Transportation Club, Past President of Pekin Traffic Club, Past President of the Illinois Valley Transportation Association, Bloomington Transportation Club, Former member of Shrine Kiltie Band, Shrine Swinging Nobles Dance Band, Mohammed Dixie Band, Peoria Elks Club, Peoria Eagles Arie #265 and Pekin Rotary Club. He played in many area dance bands. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin with Rev. Dr. Joel Catlin officiating. Visitation will from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home with Masonic services at 7:00. Burial with military honors will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
