Robert Farlin

Robert N. Farlin, 89, of Pekin passed away at 6:50 AM Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Apostolic Christian Restmor, Inc. in Morton. Bob was born November 24, 1928 in Green Valley, IL to Lawrence and Amelia (Schmidt) Farlin. He married Zoe Ann Baker. He later married Mary Frances Towery on August 25, 1964. She passed away on December 5, 1997. Preceding in death are his parents, one sister, Jean Jackson and son-in-law, Al Westfall. Surviving are: three sons, Robert A. (Carol) Farlin of Tremont, IL, Michael (Cornise) Farlin of Green Valley, AZ and Ronald (Missy) Farlin of St. Francis, MN; five daughters, Kim (Denise Durrell) Farlin of Dunlap, IL, Sally (Ronald) Doty of Manito, IL, Mary (Raye) Blanquart of Mapleton, IL, Marsha Westfall of East Peoria and Margie (John) Sisler of Pekin; two brothers, Lawrence (Marge) Farlin Jr. of Pekin and Gary (Peggy) Farlin of Pekin; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one sister, Lois Kelley of Muscatine, IA. Bob was a farmer till 1980. He also worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in the parts department from 1966 -1991. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He played the guitar in a country music band. He loved spending time with his family, piddling around in his workshop and going for Sunday drives. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin with Pastor Steve Rowell officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Illinois Chapter of Alzheimer's Association, American Diabetes Association or donor's choice.
