Robert Curtis Evans

Robert Curtis Evans, 64, of Peoria died at 11:31 p.m. Monday, September 23, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born May 15, 1949, in Peoria to Harold Curtis and Eleanor Louise Goetz Evans. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Peter Evans, and one niece. Surviving is his close friend and business partner, Christopher Shadden of Peoria; one sister, Sarai Evans of Peoria, three brothers; David Evans of Peoria, Joseph and (Mary) Evans of Brimfield, IL and Joel and (Donna) Evans of Duluth GA; three nieces and two nephews. Robert graduated from Peoria Central High School.He earned an Associate's degree in Horticulture from Illinois Central College. His employment included a Supervisor at the Peoria County Highway Department and security guard at the Commercial National Bank in Peoria. However, Robert's greatest passion was a successful business entrepreneur owning Bloomin' Balloons , Memories Caf, and E.Z. Pet Supply all located at the corner of Glendale and Main Street in downtown Peoria from 1981-2001. He also owned and operated several investment properties over his career. His leisurely passions were fishing, gardening and cooking. Robert was a humanitarian in the truest sense of the word and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Cremation rites have been accorded with a private memorial service at a later date. Memorial contributions in Robert's memory may be made to, Luthy Botanical Garden 2520 N. Prospect Rd. Peoria, IL 61603. Henderson Funeral Home and Crematory at 2131 Velde Drive in Pekin, IL is assisting Robert's family with the arrangements.
