Robert F. Chouinard

Robert F. Chouinard, 87 of Pekin, passed away at 9:45 am, Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at his home. Robert was born August 3, 1920 in Oak Park, IL to Horace and Emily Labee Chouinard.He married Neva Gould December 26, 1940 in Wheaton, IL.She passed away April 6, 1996. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Welch and two brothers. Robert is survived by two sons, Donald (Sara) Chouinard of Hopewell, IL and Michael (Leigh) Chouinard of Pekin; four grandchildren, Michele Crabel and Cindy Payne both of Chillicothe, Eric Welch of Atlanta, GA, Nicole Chouinard of Pekin; three great grandchildren, Jessica Benz, Joshua Pilger and Jacey Fritzinger of Chillicothe. Robert was a tool and machine engineer for Caterpillar retiring in 1975 after 32 years of service.He served in the United States Navy during WWII.Robert enjoyed playing the organ and dancing. Robert was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to service.Father Timothy Nolan will officiate.Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery with Military Rites provided by U.S. Navy and the Tazewell Military Rites Team.
