Robert E. Caulkins

Robert E. Caulkins 60, of Pekin formerly of Manito, passed away 11:50 am Monday, May 16, 2016 at Mason City Nursing Home. Bob was born to Nelson and Glenna (Smith) Caulkins on August 22, 1955 in Pekin. He was preceded in death by his mother, Glenna; infant sister Tami; and brother-in-law, Reggie Gaskill. Bob is survived by his father and step mother, Nelson 'Jiggs' and Audrey Caulkins of Manito; son, Brett (Vicki) Caulkins of San Jose, IL; two sisters, Gwen Gaskill and Julie Caulkins; one brother, William 'Bill' Caulkins all of Manito; one step brother, Kevin (Julie) Schoonover of Simi Valley, CA; two nieces, Amber (Earl Jr) Mayhew of Flint, Michigan, Rhandi (Adam) Weinstock of Chicago; one nephew, Ian Gaskill of Manito; one step niece, Jasmine (Nelson) Wong; one step nephew, Keith (Jessica) Schoonover all of Simi Valley, CA; and great nieces and great nephews. Bob was a self-employed carpet layer.He was a member of Community United Methodist Church in Manito.Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports and racing. There will be a Celebration of Life held 11:00 am Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Community United Methodist Church in Manito with luncheon at 12:30 pm. Inurnment will be in Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito. Memorials may be directed to Illinois Cancer Care or to his family to help defray his final expenses.
