Rob Louchart

Robert L. 'Rob' Louchart, 56, of Pekin passed away peacefully at 3:02 PM Friday, April 27, 2012 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria surrounded by his family. Rob was born on December, 14, 1955 in Pekin, IL to Robert J.'Bud' and Eleanor E. (Lami) Louchart. He married Vickie Mahr on August 17, 1985 in Pekin, IL. He was preceded in death by his mother and one sister, Carol Louchart. Surviving is: his wife, Vickie of Pekin; two daughters, Megan Marie and Anne Nicole Louchart both of Pekin: one grandson, Masen Robert of Pekin; his father, Bud of Pekin; sister, Nancy (Michael) Higgins of Florissant, MO. Rob graduated from Valencia Jr. College and Florida Southern College. He and his wife, Vickie owned Robert L. Louchart Insurance and Investments in Pekin for 37 years. Rob enjoyed golfing, his work and spending time with his family. One of his favorite places to be was on his lanai. His grandson, Masen, meant the world to him. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pekin Elks Lodge # 1271, Pekin Moose Lodge #916, South Side Business Association and Sunset Hills Golf Club. He was a former member of the Million Dollar Round Table Club and Jackson National Life Stars Unit. Rob volunteered as a basketball coach for St. Joseph's School and as a baseball coach for the Union Mission. Rob had many accomplishments as a golfer: member of 1972 PCHS golf team with a 3rd place finish in IHSA State Golf Tournament, 1973 PCHS golf team with 2nd place finish in IHSA State Golf Tournament, 1974 PCHS golf team with 1st place finish in IHSA State Golf Tournament, 1973 Illinois State Junior Amateur Champion, 1980 Robert Monge Best Ball Champion along with partner Doug Fort, 1992 - 1999 Lakewood Invitational Championship along with partner Chris Fort, Pekin Men's City Champion in 1973, 1988 and 1992, Greater Peoria Fall Classic Champion in 1987. Inducted into the Peoria Greater Sports Hall of Fame in 2002 with the 1974 PCHS State Champion golf team. In 1988 he won the Al Weaver Integrity Award at the Sunset Hills Best Ball. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin with Father Jim Pankiewicz officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Pekin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin.
