Richard Shepler

Richard L. Shepler, 84, of Pekin, passed away at 7:29 PM Friday, July 25, 2014 at Unity Point Methodist in Peoria, IL. Richard was born on July 10, 1930 in Pekin, IL to Franklin E. and Anna J. (Apfel) Shepler. He married Marlene L. Kumpf on March 7, 1953 in Pekin. She passed away on June 24, 2010. Also preceding in death are his parents and two brothers, Robert and Jack Shepler. Surviving is: one daughter, Judy Spann of Fort Meyers, FL; two sons, Kevin Shepler of Pekin and Dennis (Cheryl) Shepler of Wellington, FL; six grandchildren, Derek, Dominique and Brittney Shepler, Sarah Spann, Jamie and John Williams; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Richard was owner of E.F. Shepler & Sons Heating and Air Conditioning for your many years. He was also a home builder in the Pekin area. Richard was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1950 - 1954. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family on their private island, Honeymoon Island which is in Northwest Angle, Minnesota. There will be no services or visitation.
