Rebecca C. Welborn

Rebecca C. Welborn, 99 of Pekin, passed away at 5:10 pm, Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Morton Villa Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, LLC. She was born on April 27, 1917 in Allendale, IL. to Charles and Meena (Sparks) Clark. She married George Welborn on May 29, 1941 in Centralia, IL. He passed away on January 6, 1983. She was preceded by her parents, husband George, two sisters and one brother. Rebecca is survived by; two sons, Bob (Shirley) Welborn of Pekin, and George (Nancy ) Welborn of Anna, IL.; one daughter, Carolyn Sue (Bill) Fuquay of Peoria; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was of the Presbyterian Faith. Prior to moving to Pekin in 1961, Rebecca and her husband owned and operated the Welborn Rexall Drug Store in Sullivan, IL for many years. She was a member of the Tazewell Geological Society, a former member of the Pekin Country Club and the Sunset Hills Country Club. Rebecca was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother whose family were important to her and always came first. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin with Rev. Jeff Leeman officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to service. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Memorials may be made in Rebecca's name to TAPS, 100 TAPS Ln, Pekin, IL 61554.
