Raymond Thomas Righi, 90, of Pekin, passed away, surrounded by family, at 10:57 AM Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Ray was born March 18, 1927 in Peoria to Curizo Righi and Giovanna (Drudi) Righi. He married Ramona A. (Grafelman) Righi on July 29, 1950 at St. Boniface Church in Peoria. She passed away on October 20, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Krista Ann Righi and one son-in-law, Gregory M. Williams; six brothers, John , Jerry , Geno, Joe, Angelo and Baby Joe; four sisters, Mary Snider, Margret Morris, Mabel Righi and Gloria Wells. Surviving are: one daughter, Mona R. Williams of Pekin; one son, Kurt A. (Jeany) Righi of Pekin; four grandchildren, Josh Williams of Peoria, Aaron (Katie) Williams of Morton, Nathan Righi and Natalie Righi, both of Pekin; four great-grandchildren, Noah McGraw, Maddy McGraw, Simon Williams and Gianna Williams; two sisters, Julie (Cal) Dempsey of Conroe, TX and Rosie Goodwin of Peoria; three sisters-in-law, Barb (Jack) Buchanan of Pekin, Linda Pfanz of Morton and Sherry Heihs of Marquette Heights; one brother-in-law, Daniel(Carolyn) Pfanz of Manito. Ray was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council #3507 and Pekin Moose Lodge #916 in Pekin.He loved fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling and playing cards at the Moose. Ray and his wife Ramona were blessed with 65 years of marriage, 35 special years together after Ray's retirement. They enjoyed their many trips to Minnesota for fishing and Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Ray was an avid Chicago Cub fan and the T.V. show Survivor. His greatest treasures were his grandchildren, he loved to spend time with them, and especially watching them play sports. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 AM Monday, March 19, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 303 S. 7th St. Pekin, with Father Michael Andrejek as celebrant and Monsignor Tim Nolan, concelebrating. A visitation will be held Sunday, March 18 from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Drive, Pekin. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. Military honors will be provided by United States Army and Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gregory M. Williams Memorial Scholarship, in care of the Community Foundation of Central Illinois, 3625 North Sheridan Road, Peoria, IL 61604.
