Raymond C. 'Ray' Faux, 85, of Pekin, IL passed away at 1:05 AM Friday, June 24, 2016 at Hallmark House Nursing Center. Ray was born December 8, 1930 in Pekin to August and Cora (Bottin) Faux. He married Mary Hermes on October 12, 1957 in Pekin. Preceding in death are his parents and two sisters, Louise Deakin and Leona Austin. Surviving are: his wife, Mary of Pekin; one daughter, Betsy (Michael) Peska of Carol Stream, IL; one granddaughter, Erin Peska of Elmhurst, IL. Ray was a Korean War veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked at Corn Products Company / Pekin Energy for 42 years retiring in 1991. Ray was member of the Miller Center Carving group and a former board member for many years of the Cerelose Credit Union in Pekin. He had won a gold medal for wood carving in the Senior Olympics. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Ray was known as a great story teller and for being a quick wit. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin, Deacon Marty Pogioli officiating. Visitation will be form 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Pekin. Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team. Memorial contributions may be made to the Miller Senior Citizens Center or TAPS.
