Ralph E. Schmidgall

Ralph E. Schmidgall, 93 of Pekin, passed away at 7:50 PM, Friday, June 1, 2018 at Hallmark House Nursing Center. He was born August 23, 1924 to Carl and Eula (Cameron) Schmidgall in Pekin. He married Bethel Wagner August 9, 1947 in Pekin, IL. She passed away on November 10, 1995. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Bethel; two brothers, Carl and infant Eugene Schmidgall. He is survived by his longtime companion, Wanda Crabtree; one son, Gregg (Sue) Schmidgall of North Pekin; one daughter, Deborah Pauline of Fernandina Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Allison (Keith) Murray, Melissa Pauline Tem, both of Jacksonville, FL, Chad (Julie) Schmidgall of Dunlap, IL and Nathan (Brooke) Schmidgall of Pekin; and twelve great-grandchildren. Ralph attended the Manito Methodist Church and was a member of the Tazewell County Farm Bureau. He was a farmer his entire life. Ralph loved farming and flying his plane. He and Wanda enjoyed fishing and traveling to see the country. Later in life he enjoyed watching sports. Ralph's funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 7 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin with Pastor Greg Borland officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Wednesday night, June 6 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery, Green Valley, IL.
