Ralene M. Chave

Ralene M. Chave, 75, of Pekin, IL passed away at 7:33 PM Monday, July 6, 2026 in Pekin.

Ralene was born on August 25, 1950 in Pekin to Robert F. and Virginia L. (Bailey) Gensel. She married Walter Chave in 2008.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Rebecca Eitenmiller.

Surviving is: her husband, Walter of Pekin; three sons, Robert (Jenny) Dingledine of Glendale, AZ, Cory Dingledine of Pekin and Tom (Julie) Dingledine of Germantown Hills, IL; one daughter Amy (John) Reid of Alcoa, TN; six grandchildren, Tyler, Eric, Justin, Jaymi, Jaxson and Ashton; two brothers, Roger S. (Kathy) Gensel of Manito, and Mark R. (Toni) Gensel of Pekin; one sister, Debra L. Schmitt of Tremont; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ralene attended Pekin Bible Church and found joy in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed bowling, swimming, reading, working crossword puzzles, and playing Scrabble with family and friends. A devoted Chicago Cubs fan, she rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on her favorite team. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her family and those she loved.

Cremation has been accorded. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Pekin Bible Church. A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM with Pastor Chad Nightingale officiating. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting Ralene’s family with arrangements.
