Paul J. Underwood

Paul J. Underwood, 83, of Pekin, IL passed away 8:44 AM Saturday, November 29, 2014 in the emergency room at Pekin Hospital. Paul was born on October 1, 1931 in Mantachie, MS to Charlie and Nona (Davis) Underwood. He married Martha Davis on December 19, 1954 in Hernando, MS. Preceding in death are his parents and one brother, Bill Underwood. Surviving are: his wife, Martha of Pekin; three sons, Rick (Beth) Underwood of Victoria, TX, Michael (Brenda) Underwood of Groveland, IL and Chuck (Donna) Underwood of Pekin; one daughter, Patty Underwood of Seattle, WA; five grandchildren, Jodi Smith, Sarah Shoff, Nick, Megan and Ryan Underwood; five great grandchildren, Taylor and Kaley Underwood, Lily and Morgan Smith and Colby Shoff; one sister, Maxine Swan of Marked Tree Arkansas. Paul was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He worked in the purchasing department at Caterpillar for 30 years retiring in 1985. Cremation has been accorded. Graveside services with military honors will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 3, 2014 will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with Paul's arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
