Patrick W. 'Pat' Rogers, 39, of Marquette Heights, IL passed at 3:47 PM Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the University Of Illinois Hospital in Chicago, IL after a lengthy battle with liver disease. Pat was born on March 1, 1975 in Pekin, IL to Johnnie and Pamela (Burtis) Rogers. He married Liz Curtin on November 25, 2011 in Pekin. Surviving are: his wife, Liz of Marquette Heights; his parents, Johnnie and Pam Rogers of Pekin; two brothers, William (Sarah Hier) Rogers of Green Valley, IL and Jonathan (Kelly) Rogers of Pekin; paternal grandmother, Jean Mitchell of Tampico, IL, Pat was a graduate of Pekin Community High School where he participated in all sports and served as editor of the school newspaper, The Pekinois. He attended Illinois State University and Heartland Community where he studied journalism and writing. Pat was an entrepreneur by nature. He was a former co-owner of Generations Lounge in Pekin and Canton. He was a former board member of Pekin Main Street and Canton Main Street. He was a member of the National Hot Rod Association and an avid drag racer and was known as 'Jack'. He was an animal lover and a diehard St. Louis Cardinal fan. A visitation for Pat will be from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday, February 27 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin. Private burial will be at a later date. A celebration of life/benefit will be held on Sunday, March 1 beginning at noon at Twisted Spoke Saloon 251 Derby Street in Pekin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pat Rogers Benefit Fund in care of Pekin National Bank P.O. Box 68, Pekin, IL 61554. The funds will be donated to charities that helped Pat and his family during his illness.
