Patricia A. Taylor

Patricia A. Taylor, 84 of Pekin, IL passed away at 2:13 PM Monday, October 5, 2020 at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria. She was born on October 24, 1935 in Topeka, Kansas to B. Milek and Lois (Sanford) Strnad. She married William Taylor Jr. They had 60 wonderful years of marriage, starting their lives together on September 4, 1959 in Canton, IL when they wed. She was preceded in death by; her parents; five brothers, Billy, Shirley, Glen, Roger, Henry and one sister, Betty Strnad. Surviving are: her husband, Will "Red" of Pekin; one son, William A. (Kelly) Taylor III of Pekin; two daughters, Patricia Inga (Robert) Schaich and Zola D. Weatherhead both of Pekin; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Rundus of Munden, KS. Pat was of the Baptist Faith. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church for 61 years, where she was very active. She loved her time spent serving with the food ministry. She was a graduate of Kansas Weslyan University where she received a Bachelors in education. She originally taught in Kansas and upon moving to Illinois took a job as a Teachers Aid working at almost all of the grade schools, retiring from Pekin District 108 after 26 years. She enjoyed sewing, reading, jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Her greatest treasure in life was her children, grandchildren and spending time with her husband, Red. Inurnment will be Sunday May 30, 2021 at Tabor Cemetery, her familys cemetery, in Mundan, KS. A Celebration of Life will be held prior to burial.
