Patricia J Lee

Patricia Jean Lee, 81, of Pekin, IL passed away at 5:15 AM Monday, September 21, 2015 at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton, IL. Pat was born on October 14, 1933 in Pekin to Lafey and Mary (Dowell) Linebaugh. She married Larry Lee on March 16, 1962. He passed away on December 10, 2003. Also preceding in death are her parents, sister, Joyce Reining and her Maltese companion for many years, Scamp. Surviving are: three children, Glenn Lee of Sanford, FL, Alan (Becky) Lee of Dunlap, IL and Ronda (Roger) Latterell of Nashville, TN; two grandchildren, Shawn Lee and Lauren Lee; one sister, Judy (Mark) Weber of Tremont, IL; one brother-in-law, Bud Reining of Green Valley, IL and several nieces and nephews. Pat graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1951. She worked her entire career at Caterpillar beginning as a data processing clerk and retiring as a college recruiter after 35 years of service. While working at Caterpillar, Pat also enjoyed singing and dancing in a number of Caterpillar operetta shows, which is where she and Larry met. Upon retiring, Pat and Larry moved to Spring Hill, FL where they were able to enjoy many good years of retirement in the Sunshine State. Pat returned to Pekin upon Larry's death in 2003 to be closer to family. Pat enjoyed traveling, especially annual family vacations to Florida when her children were young. Before Parkinson's disease made it more difficult, Pat enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, baking and hosting holiday family get togethers. She loved eating out and exploring new restaurants, and truly enjoyed finding that little-known 'gem' of a restaurant to share with friends. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Springfield Chapter. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin with Rev. Judy Doyle officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm - 1:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
