She was born to Charles and Mary Colleen (Temple) Cooper on March 22, 1954 in Pekin, IL. She married James Killion on December 8, 1973 at First United Methodist Church in East Peoria, IL, he survives. Pattie was preceded in death by her parents. Also surviving are two daughters, Kimberly (Brian) Thielbar of Manito and Melissa (Brian) Kreiter of Pekin; her two adopted kitty-cats Luke and Lilly; seven grandchildren, Kristen Williams, Hope Mastin, D.J. Peacher, Megan Julien, Samatha and Kayla Hitteman and Cooper Kreiter; two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Myah Williams; one great grandson due in March, Miles Duley; her special niece, who was more like a daughter, Kelsey Cooper and great-nephew who was more like a grandson, Rowan Cooper, three brothers, Ed (Heidi) Cooper of Pekin, Tim (Annette) Cooper of Glasford, and Terry (Priscilla) Cooper of Peoria; and two sisters, Debra Turner and Kathy Cooper, both of Pekin. She also leaves behind her maternal uncle, Terry (Dan) Temple of Tucson, AZ who she was very close with along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pattie was a Christian. She was a 1972 graduate of Pekin Community High School and had just attended her 50th class reunion in September. Pattie had worked several years for the Peoria Convention and Visitors Bureau in the 80s, a job that she very much enjoyed. She was a proud St. Louis Cardinal Fan, which drove Jim crazy. Pattie was an avid birdwatcher and was a member of the Decorah Eagle Watchers Group, where she made many lifelong friends. She especially enjoyed watching Eagles and Hummingbirds, and faithfully caring for her crops on Farmville. Pattie prided herself for her amateur weather predicting skills and was always the one to call when weather was approaching. She was affectionately known as "Weather-Channel Pattie" among family and friends. She always worried about family and friends and wanted to be sure they were safe when weather was approaching. She was a great friend to everyone she met. Pattie will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Per her request, there will be no services. A Celebration of Life is being planned at a later date. Cremation has been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to St. Judes Childrens Hospital or TAPS.
