Patricia D. “Patti” Cassidy, 71, of Marquette Heights, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 8:11 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria. Born on December 4, 1953, in Peoria, Illinois, to Arthur and Arlene (Hauck) Christopher, Patti grew up in a close-knit family, instilled with values of kindness and community. She carried these values throughout her life, touching the hearts of all who knew her.

Patti was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Arthur and Arlene Christopher, and her brother-in-law, Tom Fugate.

She leaves behind a cherished legacy, survived by her devoted son, Jerry (Ashley) Cassidy Jr. of Metamora; her beloved daughter, Kimberly (Brian) DuBois of Creve Coeur; her dear sisters, Joyce Fugate of Pekin and Sharon (Mike) Shaver of East Peoria; as well as nine grandchildren, Kayla (Justin) DuBois, Alexis (Cody) Fisher, Haley DuBois, Gage Burris, Aven Cassidy, Brooklyn Sorrentino, Dominic Sorrentino, Natalie (JD) Archdale and Kayla Archdale and two great-grandchildren, Santanna Hill and Waylon Bicknell, who were the light of her life.

Her family was her greatest treasure, and she delighted in every moment spent with them, creating memories filled with love and laughter. For many years, Patti served her community as a dedicated bank teller at First Pekin Savings Bank, where her warm smile and genuine care for others made her a favorite among colleagues and customers alike. Her professional life was marked by her strong work ethic and commitment to helping others. Patti found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She liked going to dances with her friends and caring for her roses as well as other flowers she grew. Her love for embroidery allowed her to craft beautiful keepsakes, many of which she gifted to family and friends. A talented musician, Patti played the organ at church as well as for her family, reflecting her vibrant spirit. Above all, she cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, always ready with a hug, a story, or a kind word to brighten someone’s day.

A funeral service to celebrate Patti’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin, with Pastor Steve Rowell officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., offering an opportunity for family and friends to share memories and honor her legacy. Burial will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens, where she will be laid to rest.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, a cause close to Patti’s heart, to support their mission of advancing cancer research and patient care. Patti’s warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will be forever cherished, and her legacy will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
