Pamela K. Higginson, 69, of Morton, IL passed away at 12:12 AM Saturday, March 14, 2026 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Pamela was born on June 23, 1956 in Peoria to Harry and Arlene (McKinnie) Jackson. She married Craig Higginson on June 23, 1987 in Boston, MA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Ronald Jackson.
Surviving are: her husband, Craig of Morton; two sons, Nicholas (Beth McCabe) Ives of Pekin and Kyle (Ariel Jording) Higginson of Oregon; one granddaughter, Ella Ives; four brothers, Michael Jackson of Texas, Richard (Mary) Jackson of Chillicothe, Mark Jackson of Peoria, Dale (Roseann) Moushon of Florida; five sisters, Kathy Johnson of Arkansas, Linda Kauffman of Chillicothe, Vicki (Ric) Watt of Texas, Teresa (Rick) Nixon of Peoria and Lori Bailey of Florida.
Pam ran a daycare from her home for more than 29 years, dedicating her time, energy, and heart to nurturing and caring for countless children and families in her community. She had a deep love for travel—especially trips to Florida—where she enjoyed relaxing and making lasting memories.
Pam treasured attending concerts with her close “tribe of girls,” a group of dear friends she had shared many years of laughter, music, and friendship with. She also found great joy in working in her yard, carefully tending to her flowers and creating a beautiful space around her home. In quieter moments, Pam loved the simple pleasure of sitting down with a jigsaw puzzle, enjoying the calm and satisfaction of fitting each piece into place.
Her warmth, dedication, and love for life were evident in everything she did and in the many people whose lives she touched.
Per Pam’s wishes, her body will be donated to Anatomical Gift Association. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory with a visitation from 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Saturday, also at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at a later date in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
