O. Charlotte Schaefer

O. Charlotte Schaefer, 80, of 1801 Vienna Ct. Pekin, IL passed away at 12:30 pm Friday, March 7, 2008 at Pekin Manor. Charlotte was born February 25, 1928 in Pekin, IL to Ernest and Hazel V. Mayhew. She married James A. Schaefer on September 7, 1946 in Pekin. Preceding in death are one son, Gregory James Schaefer and one grandson, Todd Schaefer. Surviving are: her husband, Jim of Pekin; one son, Timothy C. (and Elaine) Schaefer of West Fargo, ND; three daughters, Rebecca S. (and Randy) Dixon of Pekin, Teresa L. (and Phil) Workman of Charlotte, NC and Mary J. (and Dave) Pope of Pekin; eight grandchildren, Tara Sondag, Heidi Schatz, Mike Schaefer, Sarah Scott, Gabriella Workman, Morgan Workman, Mollie Pope, Benjamin Pope; six great grandchildren, Ashley, Hanna, Nick, Carter, Evan and Trevor; one brother, Ernest James (and Yeya) Loveland of Puerto Rico. Charlotte was a member St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Alter and Rosary Society and the Wednesday Nighters. She enjoyed camping, antiquing, square dancing and traveling. Most of all she loved being a grandmother. She was a Dental Assistant in the office of Dr. Dennis Stoller for eleven years retiring in 1978.
