Norma A. Stallings, 84, formerly of 1014 Coolidge St. in Pekin died at 8:59 pm Friday, October 1, 2010 at Pekin Manor. Norma was born January 17, 1926 in Mt. Pulaski, IL to E. Claude and Elva Ann (Hall) Johnson. She married Robert J. Stallings on January 5, 1947 in Pekin, IL. He died on July 19, 2006. Also preceding her in death are her parents and two brothers, Kenneth and Gene Johnson. Surviving is: one daughter, Jill (Russ) Roepenack of Pekin; two sons, Brian J. (Georgette) Stallings of Trivoli, IL and Ladd R. Stallings of Pekin; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; one sister, Thelma Davis of Elkhart, IL. She had worked at Commonwealth Loan Company, Sears Roebuck and Straumans Clothing. Norma was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. She served on the church council, chairman of Share Program for seven years, chairman of the Red Cross Bloodmobile for twelve years, tutor for the YWCA Literacy program. She also was a member of the Ladies Bowling League and Pekin Hospital Auxiliary for 30 years. Norma played pinochle with the same group of ladies for over 50 years.
