Norma J. King

Norma J. King, 81, of Pekin, IL passed away at 6:00 AM Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Pekin Manor. Norma was born on January 29, 1930 in Peoria, Illinois to Glenn and Mildred (Stafford) Cooke. She married Bill E. King on April 8, 1951 in Peoria. He died on March 8, 1985. Also preceding in death are parents and one sister. Surviving are: two sons, William King of Peoria and Michael (Hilary) King of Marlton, New Jersey; three daughters, Cindy (Joe) Alesandrini of Pekin, Bonnie (Troy) DuPage of Pekin and Debbie (Kenny) Hartwig of West Palm Coast, Florida; one brother, Dale (Sue) Cooke of Bartonville; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Norma was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Pekin. She enjoyed Password Club and loved to sew. Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin.Her grandson Rev. Brent Hartwig will officiate.Visitation will be from Noon till 1:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Tazewell County Children's Advocacy Center 341 Buena Vista Pekin, IL 61554.
