Norma Johnson

Norma J. Johnson, 87, of Pekin, IL passed away at 7:59 PM Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin. Norma was born on December 14, 1927 in Peoria, IL to Henry E. and Frieda (Reuter) Sathoff. She married Ray W. Johnson on October 2, 1966 in Pekin. Preceding in death are her parents and two brothers. Surviving is: her husband, Ray of Pekin; one son, Mark (Joann) Johnson of Red Wing, MN; three daughters, Rae Anne (Henry) Carpenter of Lake In The Hills, IL, Laurie Godby of Pekin, IL and Zita Palko of Morton, IL; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Allison, Ray, Ryan, Levi, Ben and Sam; three great grandchildren, Jillian, Joshua and Jacob; one sister, Ruth Farley of Walcott, IA; one nephew, Rich Sathoff. Norma was a graduate of Manuel High Scholl and the Moody Bible Institute with a degree in music. She enjoyed a lifelong love of music, piano and helping the handicapped. Norma was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. She worked at Caterpillar, Tazewell County Resource Center and Holiday School. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, December 29, 2014 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin with Rev. Judy Kennedy officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
