Norma Hofreiter

Norma Hofreiter, 92, of Manito, IL passed at 4:18 PM Saturday, September 12, 2020 at her home. Norma was born May 7, 1928 in Manito to Meryln and Ruth (Meeker) Ethell.Her mother died when Norma was 4 months old so her maternal grandparents, George and Julia Meeker raised her.She married Wilbur Hofreiter. Preceding in death are one son-n-law, Doug Baird and one sister, Leona Kastner. Norma is survived by her six children, Ardyth Ruth, of Cabo, Mexico, Frank (Judy) Hofreiter of Havana, IL, Frances (Darrell) Pfeiffer of Forest City, IL, Patricia Baird of Loveland, CO, Cora Schumm of Pekin, Wilbur B. Hofreiter of Fargo, ND; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren. Norma was a homemaker who loved cooking, catering, sewing crafts and farming.She was a graduate of San Jose High School. She was a member of Green Valley Presbyterian Church.She was very active with Home Extension and 4-H. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory in Pekin with Deacon Bob Sondag officiating.Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Guidelines regarding social distancing and wearing masks will be followed. Burial will be in Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito. Memorials may be directed to Kemmerer Village 941 N. 2500 E.
