Norma Ann Bush, 95 of Washington, IL passed away 10:23 pm, Tuesday, December 7, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. She was born to Edmond and Anne (Hudson) Cooper on November 23, 1925 in Springfield, IL. Norma was preceded in death by; her parents; one aunt, Hazel Hudson; and her two best buddies, her pugs, Benny and Betsy. She is survived by; two daughters, Terry (Dr. Rick) Polanin of Germantown Hills, IL and Susan (Karl) Barth of New Lisbon, WI; six grandchildren, Dr Josh (Dr Megan) Polanin, Dr Brad (Morgan) Polanin, Dr Krista (Captain Warren) McGriff, Kaitlynne Barth, Taylor Barth and Karl Barth Jr..; one great granddaughter, Elza Kallie; one brother, George (Marilyn) Cooper; and many wonderful friends she made over the years, tops among them her dear friends made over the last few years at the Villas of Holly Brook in Washington. Norma was a Christian woman. She was a strong woman with strong faith. She was a member of The Congregational UCC of Pekin, and later a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington. She received her Bachelors degree from Illinois State University. She taught business at Illinois Valley Central High School in Chillicothe retiring in 1992 after 30 plus years. She also worked as an Interior Decorator, a profession that sprung from her love of art. She enjoyed nature, especially flowers and trees. Norma was a talented painter, seamstress and needle worker. She was a selfless person, never known to speak an unkind word, even to her own cost. Norma sacrificed for her daughters and grandchildren, she devoted her life to making their lives better. She believed the greatest gift she could give to family was her time, love, and, attention. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Cremation has been accorded, and private services will be held at a later time when family and friends are able to gather and honor her life.
