Nola Jean Louise Berger

Nola Jean L. Berger, 93, of Pekin, IL passed away at 3:54 AM Friday, March 17, 2017 at Hallmark House Nursing Center. Nola Jean was born on February 15, 1924 in Pekin to Charles and Lillian (Heisel) Brooking. She married Richard Eugene Berger on June 22, 1947 in Pekin. He passed away on February 6, 2013. Also preceding in death are her parents and two brothers, C. Melvin Brooking and Robert D. Brooking. Surviving are: one son, Mark (Pam) Berger of Pekin; one daughter, Kathy Berger of Peoria; four grandchildren, Jordan (Mike)Berger-Statten of Vancouver, British Columbia, Emily Berger of Los Angeles, CA, Amy (Mike) Manwaring of Germantown Hills, IL and Keri (Chris) Cassady of Gilmer, TX; six great grandchildren. Nola Jean was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pekin. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, making crafts and loved spoiling her grandchildren. She was an office assistant for Drs. Wherry, Werner, Heldon and Colson for over twenty-five years. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. with Rev. Daniel Bishop officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
