Nelson Behrends

Nelson L. Behrends, 85, of Plantation, FL passed away at 11:29 PM Sunday, January 4, 2015. Nelson was born on December 11, 1929 in Lincoln, IL to John T. and Lydia M. (Wiggers) Behrends. He married Carol Kahler on April 2, 1950 in Pekin. She passed away on February 24, 2005. Also preceding in death are his parents and one brother, John R. Behrends. Surviving is: two sons, Gregg L. Behrends / his wife, Tsa Behrends of Davie, FL and Doug K. Behrends of Boulder, CO; one sister, Mildred Roberts of Boulder, CO Nelson retired from Caterpillar Inc. He and his wife had moved to Florida in 1984. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, January 9, 2015 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory 2131 Velde Dr. Pekin, IL with Rev. Brian Bryne. Visitation will be one hour before services. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
