Nancy Ellen Higginson

Nancy Ellen Higginson, 77, of North Pekin passed way at 11:00 am Monday, September 10, 2007 at her home. Nancy was born January 13, 1930 in Greenup, IL to Russel F. and Luvicia M. Nicolls Perisho.She married Orville V. Higginson on December 15, 1950 in Peoria.He passed away August 12, 1995. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Maxine L. English and one brother Harvey L. Perisho. She is survived by two daughters; Pamela A. (Gary) Smith of North Pekin and Melanie D. (Dennis) Broombaugh of Pekin;three sons, Randall T. 'Randy' (Susan) Higginson of Pekin, Jeffrey V. 'Jeff' (Julie) Higginson of Fancy Prairie, IL, Craig A. (Pamela)Higginson of Morton; one sister, Donna J. (Phillip) Partlow of Casey, IL; fifteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Nancy worked for North Pekin/Marquette Heights School District #102 for 10 years, working first in the kitchens of all District Schools and later was a secretary to the principal at Marquette Heights Elementary School, retiring in 1984.She was a 1947 graduate of Marshall High School in Marshall, IL.Nancy enjoyed reading, crocheting and knitting.She was a member of Creve Coeur Christian Church, Creve Coeur, IL. Nancy formerly attended First Missionary Church in North Pekin where she had played both the organ and piano.She was also a member of the Faithful Hearts at First Missionary.She was a coordinator of Helping Hands at Creve Coeur Christian Church. Nancy was also a volunteer at Washington Christian Village.
