Mildred Willock

Mildred B. 'Millie' Willock, 88, of Pekin passed away at 3:10 am Friday, February 12, 2010 at Pekin Hospital. Millie was born on April 7, 1921 in Springlake Township, Tazewell County, Illinois to Philip and Johanna (Musselman) Guengerich. She married Joseph H. Willock on September 11, 1948 in Pekin, IL. He died on October 27, 1994. Also preceding in death are her parents, one brother, Ralph Guengerich and one sister-in-law, Norma Guengerich. Surviving are: three children, Donald E. (Merry) Willock of Pekin, Diane (Nick) Crapis of Palmetto, FL and David L. (Serena) Willock of St. Petersburg, FL; five grandchildren, Christopher Irving of St. Petersburg, FL, Michelle Stephens, of Washington, IL, MelanieTrinkle of Villa Grove, Illinois, Nicole Barnhouse of Raeford, NC and Amber Willock of St. Petersburg, FL; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Nelson 'Nellie' Guengerich of Pekin and Burton (Jane) Guengerich of Manito, IL; one sister, Magdeline "Mag" Irish of Lincoln, IL; one sister-in-law, Mary Guengerich of Manito, IL; she has many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews that she enjoyed. Millie worked for Dr. Nelson Wright before she was married. She also worked as a riveter for Boeing during WW II. She was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin, where she served as part of the 'Communion Set-up Team'. She volunteered at 'Ewe's Treasures' for the benefit of Good Shepherd Lutheran School. She served as secretary for the Guengerich Family Reunions in the past and enjoyed the Corn Products retiree group. She loved her family and enjoyed gardening and reading. A special thanks to Bonnie Lohnes her best friend and confidant to the very end!
