Mildred M. Maxey

Mildred M. Maxey, 90, of 6901 N. Galena Rd. Peoria formerly of Pekin passed away at 11:40 am Thursday, March 19, 2009 at her home. Mildred was born September 30, 1918 in St. Louis, MO to Henry F. A. and Alma (Heitzeberg) Kuhlmann. She married William E. Maxey on April 15, 1956 in St. Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Herbert Kuhlmann and one sister, Ruth Flaxbart. Surviving are: her husband, Bill of Peoria; one son, Dr. James W. (and Kathleen) Maxey of Dunlap, IL; one daughter, Susan K. (and Alan) Reid of Naperville, IL; four grandchildren, Emma F. Maxey, Glenn J. Maxey, Jack E. Reid and Morgan E. Reid; one sister, Dorothy Dornberger of Pekin, IL. Mildred graduated from Hadley Vocational Business School, St. Louis, MO. She was the Assistant Manager for the Crane Agency from 1936 - 1956. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pekin and the Walther League in St. Louis. She loved reading and traveling.
