Mildred F. Allen, 100, of Pekin, IL passed away at 12:49 PM Saturday, March 20, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born 100 years ago on September 17, 1920 to William & Mildred (McMullen) Kissner in Peoria, IL. She married Raymond B. Allen on September 26, 1949 in Peoria. He preceded her in death November 13, 1982. Mildred was also preceded by her parents; one daughter, Kay Frances Hubbart; and one son in law, Robert Hubbart. She is survived by; one son, Bud (Karen) Grimm of Pekin; one daughter, Leah Rae (Danny) Haley of Spring Bay / East Peoria; seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, thirteen great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild. Mildred was an independent and opinionated woman. She was blessed with 100 years of life, and lived on her own, baking and cooking until after her 99th birthday. She was a certified choc-o-holic, who loved fine chocolate more than almost anything. She was known to "hide the Fannie Mae and share the Hersheys. She was a gifted baker, excelling with cakes and desserts. She and her sisters spent many years searching out live music to enjoy and to dance. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother; she will be greatly missed. Private funeral services will be held with burial in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
