Mike Bouris

Pekin-Mike Bouris, 59, of Dunlap, formerly of Pekin, died at 6:28 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011 at his residence. He was born July 13, 1951 in Pekin to Robert G. 'Bob' and Donna L. Smith Bouris. Surviving are two children, Luke and Lisa Bouris, both of Pekin; his father, Bob Bouris of Peoria; his step-father, Kenneth 'Woody' Good of Pekin; 3 brothers, Brian (Becky) Bouris of Groveland, Dick (Kathy) Bouris of El Paso, IL, and Randy Bouris of Morton, IL; and 2 sisters, Kay (Don) Westemeyer and Keli (Greg) Maloney, both of Pekin. He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna L. Good on April 1, 2007. Mike graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1969. He was a member of UAW Local 974 and retired from Caterpillar in 2009 after 35 years. Mike loved being outdoors and was a passionate Cubs and Bears fan. Memorial visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin.Cubs and Bears attire is requested. Services will be private.Burial of cremated remains will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. Following the burial, the family invites friends to join them at Pekin Moose Lodge 916 for a memorial luncheon beginning at 12:00 Noon on Friday to share stories and celebrate Mike's life. Memorials are suggested to the Children's Hospital of Illinois in Peoria.
