Michael L. 'Mike' Ranney, 56, of Pekin died at 9:10 am Thursday, August 12, 2010 at his home. Mike was born on September 6, 1953 in Pekin to James L. and Mary K. (Kumpf) Ranney. He married Cari Lisa Oltman on November 6, 1976 in Pekin. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are: his wife, Cari of Pekin; two daughters, Ashlee and Emily Ranney both of Pekin; one granddaughter, Gabriella Ranney of Pekin and was expecting the birth of another grandchild at the time of his death; one brother, Greg (Gloria) Ranney of Pekin; one sister, Carla (Rick) Porter of Alexandria, VA; nephews and niece, Derek (Stefanie) Stout, P.J. (Crisi) Antonini, Corey (Angela) Ranney, Seth (Melissa) Ranney and Rachel Ranney; Great nieces and nephews, Dereka and Blake Stout, Lainee and Landen Antonini, Josie, Lexy and Chase Ranney. Mike was a maintenance supervisor for Midwest Generation where he had worked since1983. He had also worked out of Carpenters Local 644 and was a millwright instructor at ICC. Mike was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was a former member of the Willow School PTA and Intuition Booster Club. He helped build parade floats and organize parades for several years. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, Chicago Bears and the St. Louis Cardinals. Mike was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and pampering them.
