Michael P. Honan Ii

Michael P. Honan II, 18, of Tremont died at 10:04 am Saturday, January 22, 2011 on Interstate 74 west of Bloomington, IL. Mike was born on July 22, 1992 in Park Ridge, IL to Dr. Michael P. and Stefany Le (Deitrich) Honan. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Le Deitrich and cousin, Logan Hanchett. Surviving are: his parents, Mike and Stefany of Tremont; two brothers, Colin Le and Conor Martin Honan; one sister, Caitlyn Clare Honan; maternal grandmother, Marjorie Colleen Deitrich of Sigourney, IA; paternal grandparents, Michael Patrick and Josephine Honan of Mt. Prospect, IL; aunts and uncles, Jill (John) Hanchett and family of Sigourney, IA, Stacy (Jim) Waechter and family of Highlands Ranch, CO, Eileen (Pat) Byrne and family of Co. Offaly, Ireland, Tommy (Mary) Honan and family of Chicago, IL, Brendan (Annette) Honan and family of Park Ridge, IL and Karen (John) Durkan and family of Chicago, IL. Mike was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin where he had served as an Altar Server. He attended Pekin Community High School for his freshman and sophomore years and then attended Tremont High School for his Junior and Senior years. He was a two year All Conference Football player and was a starter on the Tremont High School Basketball Team. He had been accepted to Illinois State University in Bloomington to pursue a degree in Business. He worked at Striketown Bowling Alley in North Pekin. He enjoyed fishing and other outdoor sports and recently had taken up snowboarding. Michael was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend and team mate. He will be greatly missed.
