Michael L. Fulk

Michael Leroy Fulk, "Mic" passed away on at 1:00 am Thursday, July 24, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center surrounded by immediate family. Mic was born on January 20, 1945 at OSF Hospital in Peoria IL to Delber and Claris Douglas Fulk. Mic grew up in a Christian family with his siblings in Pekin IL. Mic's fondest childhood memories are of riding his bike and yearly family vacations at Devil's Lake in Wisconsin where he learned to swim. Mic was extremely close to his parents and thought of them often. In 1970 Mic met and married Paula Smith. Surviving are 3 sons, Larry Scot (Patricia), David (Sherry) and Anthony "Tony" (Laura) all of Pekin IL. Mic was very active in his sons' Cub Scouts and umpired softball games for them. Mic would also take the family on camping trips. Mic enjoyed playing the organ and piano at the Creve Coeur Christian church where he was a lifelong member. Throughout the years Mic was able to travel to different states working in a clerical capacity last working in 2005. Mic now has 7 grandchildren, 3 boys and 4 girls. Heather Fulk of Edwardsville, Il, Nicholette Fulk of Naperville, Il, Evan Hammond of Pekin, Krishna Fulk, Dakota Fulk, Dalton Fulk and Briley Fulk all of Pekin. Mic last resided at Pekin Manor where he was quite the social bug and jokester. He never met a stranger and would say he had a pork allergy so he did not have to eat ham but would eat all the bacon he could get. Mic's first true love however was....Dr. Pepper!!!!!! Mic also had a favorite stuffed lion he named George. Mic was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 7:00 pm at Creve Coeur Christian Church. There will be no visitation. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.Memorial contributions may be made to Creve Coeur Christian Church.
