Michael D. Bass

Michael (Mike) Dean Bass, 74, of Pekin, Illinois, passed away at 2:30PM on October 22, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born on March 8, 1949 in Pekin, Illinois and is the son of Dean Bass and Pat (Walter) Lohmann Sr. Mike married the love of his life, Sally Keefer, on December 8, 1967. She survives, along with their children, Mike (Julie) Bass, Jeff (Wendy) Bass, and Robbie (Vicki) Bass; grandchildren, Alexis Bass, Austin Bass, Hayley (Chris) Adolphson, Carson Bass, Tyler Bass, Colton Bass, and Trista Bass; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Walter (Denise) Lohmann Jr., Larry Lohmann, Kevin (Connie) Lohmann; one sister, Kathy (Stan) Lundy; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mike retired from Caterpillar in 2009 after 38 years of service. He was a member of Bridgeway Community Church and the Pekin Boat Club, where he previously served as Commadore. Mike loved the Lord, spending time with his family, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Mike was a kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by the many lives he touched. Cremation will be accorded with no services held. A celebration of life may follow at a later date. Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with Mikes arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to Tazewell Animal Protective Society (TAPS).
