Merna L. Miller

Merna L. Miller, 96, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.She lived in Pekin for 70 years until relocating to Virginia Beach. Merna was born February 11, 1916, in rural Tremont to Ralph Mayo and Mary Leola Boyle.She married J. Edward Miller on October 19, 1935.She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, and son, Jummy.She is survived by her two sons Robert R. (Cherie) Miller of Libertyville, Tim R. (Patricia) Miller of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren Phil Miller, Julie Miller Hines and Katrina Miller Stevens; and four great-grandchildren. Merna privately taught piano in the Pekin area and was the organist for St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin for 30 years.She also had worked for the Tazewell County Treasurer's Office from 1968 to 1972 and at the Illinois Secretary of State driver's license facility in Pekin. She belonged to St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin and their King's Daughters group, as well as a bridge club in Tazewell County.
