Merla Mccloud

Merla M. McCloud, 90, of Pekin, passed away at 8:20 pm Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at UnityPoint Health - Pekin. She was born December 5, 1926 in Pekin, IL. to John W. and Carrie (Wineburner) Hundt. She married Richard C. 'Dick' McCloud on August 16, 1947 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pekin. He passed on January 30, 2011. Also preceding her in death are her parents, one daughter, JoAnn McCloud; one sister and one brother. Merla is survived by; two sisters, Hazel Nichols of Pekin, and MariLou (Bob) Smith of DeKalb; 8 nieces and nephews; 12 great nieces and nephews and 2 great great nephews. She is also survived by very close friend, Marcella Harms of Pekin. Merla was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pekin. She worked as an office manager at numerous businesses in Central Illinois. She is a former member of the Eureka American Legion Auxiliary, former owner with her husband of Pekin Music Store during the 1950's and 1960's and former owner with her daughter, Joann of the Heather Dance Studio at 19 Olt Ave. in Pekin. Her funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Monday, October 9, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pekin with Rev. Daniel Bishop officiating. A visitation will be held at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Drive in Pekin Sunday, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM, and Monday prior to the service from 12:45 - 1:15 PM at the church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
