Melissa M. Tucker

Melissa M. Tucker, 42 of Pekin, passed away at 1:42 am, Saturday, October 14, 2017 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria with her family by her side. She was born on April 21, 1975 to Jeffrey Myers and Jan (Casler) Myers in Sioux City, IA. She married Shawn Tucker in 1998 in Peoria, IL.From this union came two daughters, Brittany and infant Caitlyn, who preceded Melissa in death. Also preceding her is her Aunt Sandy Casler, and grandparents Myron and Mavis Casler, and John and Evelyn Myers. Melissa is survived by; one daughter, Brittany Tucker of Pekin, IL; her parents, Jeffrey (Gina Sypersma) Myers of McCook Lake, SD, and Jan (Robert) VanOuwerkerk of Tampa, FL.; two sisters, Rachael (Aaron Ward) Myers-Ward of Springfield, VA, Paige Sypersma of Des Moines, IA; three brothers, Kirby (Kelly McCutcheon) Myers of Blacksburg, VA, Matthew (Sunny) LeGree of Sioux City, IA., and Austin Sypersma of Minneapolis, MN; five nephews, Sebastian Myers-Ward, Gabriel Myers-Ward, both of Springfield, VA, Thaddeus LeGree of Sioux City, IA., Mike Monroe and Kyle Monroe, both of Bartonville, IL; and four nieces, Madison LeGree of Sioux City, IA, Ashley Monroe of Bartonville, IL, Christine Bauer, and Alexis Lewis, both of Mapleton, IL; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Melissa cherished spending time with her family and friends. She loved traveling, playing golf, relaxing on the beach, water skiing, boating, Notre Dame football and her beloved cats Tanner and Neeko, and Brittany's dog Ace. She especially enjoyed her time at McCook Lake, SD and Tampa Bay beaches. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr., Pekin, IL. A meal will be served at 6:00 pm. Family and friends are encouraged to come visit, share a meal, and to remember Melissa with fellowship and stories. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Melissa's name to Brittany Tucker.
