Melba L. Mccarty

Melba L. McCarty, 88, passed away at 5:48 AM Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Pekin Manor. Melba was born on December 20, 1929 in Pekin to Ray and Ethel (Newburn) Foster. She married Dale McCarty on April 16, 1954 in Pekin. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Raymond Robert Foster. Surviving are: her husband, Dale of Pekin, one son, Jed (Camille) McCarty of Pekin, two granddaughters, Kelly(Dustin) Heath and Katie McCarty; one great grandson, Hudson; three nieces, Shawna Conaway, Doyan( Brent)Howard and Carolyn(John) LaReau and great nieces and nephews Paeton, Brenna, Michael, and Michelle. Melba worked at Keystone Steel and Wire as a scheduler retiring in January 1990. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Melba was an avid reader and loved watching sports especially the Chicago Cubs. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, March 30, 2018 at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, 2131 Velde Dr. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens. Being an animal lover, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to TAPS, 100 Taps Lane Pekin, IL 61554.
