May M. Lawson

May M. Lawson 88 of Pekin, went home to be with the Lord at 8:47 pm Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Pekin Hospital emergency room. May was born May 23, 1924 in Cincinnati Township,Tazewell County, Illinois to Herman and Lucinda (Lohnes) Garman.She married James Lawson on June 9, 1946.He passed away September 2, 1984. She was also preceded by her parents, one daughter, Cynthia Bradshaw, four brothers; three sisters; one daughter-in-law and one granddaughter. May is survived by one son, David Lawson of Kentucky, one daughter, Nancy (Donald) Johnston of Orion, IL; son- in- law, Lee Bradshaw of Pekin; seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Doris Garman of Pekin. May was a wonderful loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.She was a homemaker who enjoyed bowling and her bunko club.May volunteered for more than 33 years at the American Red Cross. She faithfully attended the First Christian Church in Pekin for many years. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Monday, February 18, 2013 at Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin.Rev. Michael Roberts will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday, February 17at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to First Christian Church or the American Red Cross Blood Service or Friends of the Children of Haiti.
