Max D. Brantley, 90, of the Apostolic Christian Home in Roanoke, IL and formerly of Pekin and most recently of Washburn passed away at 7:18 PM Friday, April 22, 2011 in Roanoke. Max was born on November 8, 1920 in Benton, IL to Joe and Rose Lena (Walker) Brantley. He married Mabel Murphy on August 14, 1941 in Jackson, MO. She passed away on October 29, 2006. Also preceding in death are one daughter, Donna Jean Brent, one sister, Eva Mae Brantley, one brother, James Brantley and one great granddaughter, Dianna L. Brent. Surviving is: one son, James (Dinah) Brantley of Washburn, IL; nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and twelve great- great grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Brantley of Pekin. Max was a machine operator at Caterpillar, Inc. for twenty-eight years retiring in 1982. He also owned and operated the Brantley Gulf Station in Pekin for eight years. Funeral services will at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Henderson Funeral Home in Pekin. The Rev. Tracey Thomas will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home 1102 W.
